Igor is a British citizen of Czech origin living in France since 1977. His life is marked by three different cultures.

In his paintings one can perceive a certain Slavonic nostalgia in his viewing of the world which is always kept in check by a British sense of humour and further transformed by the French revelation of colour and light.

Igor paints a world seen from different angles but transformed into a poetical experience. To him it is the revisited reality that matters – as when you are in a dream, where everything is possible, a world upside down seen with humour to hide the dark side of life. The vivid colour schemes together with the simplicity of composition help to conjure up different subconscious images and feelings.
