BALANCE by Sophia Schorr-Kon

Balance is recently published document of the current European hardcore music scene, exploring the ‘twin lives’ of musicians, promoters and artists who must work day jobs to fund their passion. The book documents the people that drive European hardcore, incorporating photographs of the subjects both at work and performing, with interviews and a brief history of the scene.

This show is an exhibition of selected images from the book and unpublished Polaroid images from the project which is a collaboration between Sophia Schorr-Kon a London based Artist and Music journalist Tom Barry. The photographs take you deep within this visceral scene and reflect back insights on anger and rage and finding peace within them.

There have been a number of recent books and documentaries - this is the first to focus on the modern scene, and the first to document the European scene. It is sure to be an exciting night and one that will take you to the heart of a world that remains very much underground.
